Day 14-16

Day 14 cont.
- Ardulice asks Brisha if she has heard of Kyle or Mazzini; he hasn’t. Ardulice considers going and looking for them, but decides against it.
- The group sleeps in the Two Serpents

Day 15:
- The party wakes to a very nice breakfast in the Two Serpents.
- They stroll to the barracks to sign up on another mission from Strateli.
- The group meets Estos, a human, who takes down their information and draws their picture. Satisfied, Strateli tells them the diplomatic envoy to Brinst’s Rest has not been heard from, so he wants the group to investigate.
- The group collects their first week stipend at the barrack treasury.
- They set off for the direct root to Dunregan, as they pass the gate, Nullai asks a gaurd if this which way the army is. Upon being told the army is on the road to Dunregan Ardulice runs off to “tell” a member of the Returners in the city.
- The group continues along the road and passes the army encampment without issue.
- Though they do see a halfling scout along a small road above the path, who runs off west.
- Zurgo expertly climbs the cliff and lifts the rest of the party onto the small path, the group continues along the smaller path, finding it intersects the road between Killibyr and Dunregan. They decide to continue to Dunregan.
- Luckily the guards recognize them, and allow them to enter the city.
- Nullai finds an armorsmith willing to make him dragon skin breastplate in exchange for the mithril armor. He leaves a platinum bar as collateral. The dwarf says the armor will be completed in 2 days.
- Ardu buys a lapis lazuli nucklace.
- The group stays at an inn near the south gate. Most go to bed, but Ardu stays up and and talks with a human, Steven, he is on a trade mission from Brinst’s Rest, and says their will be lots of work if the party venture there. He also mentions he has seen a drow before in Le La Lune, where it had been captured.
- The party sleep in the inn.

Day 16:
- They party eat grits and bacon for breakfast. They get horses and head toward Brinst’s Rest.
- They reach the city in under a day, and give the horses back to Bernard.
- The notice a hooded figure watching them from a alley. Zurgo chases after him, Nullai turns into a cat and follows him across roofs. Zergo also ventures onto the roofs, but gets his foot stuck in thatch then slips on a tiled roof, falls, cracking the roof and falling off.
- Ardulice is tracking the roof chase via the road, and when the hooded man jumps off the roof, she charges him trapping him in an alley.
- Theodocicles stays hidden behind a corner, but listens to the conversation. Zurgo blows by him and corners the hooded man.
- Ardu talks to him for a while, learning his name is Felix, but he pulls a powder out of his sack blinding her and annoying Zurgo.
- Felix runs past Ardulice, but Corrine stamps on him as he passes.
- Nullai continues to follow as a cat
- Zurgo chases him down, cuts him down, and hits him very hard. Ardulice cures her blindness and cuts off the other exit.
- Theo catches up and casts hold person. This finally gives Ardu a chance to tie him up. They proceed to learn he works Argor, the leader of the merchant guild, as a spy and assassin, and that Argor is holding one of the envoy from Koryynth hostage. He also agrees to set up a meeting with Argor.
- Ardu lets him go, but Nullai follows him in cat form back to a shack, where Nullai hears a door open.
- The party reconvenes at the Pride of Chrace inn, getting a single room so they can more easily keep watch.

Day 13-14

Day 13 cont.
- The party leaves the ruins to the sound of the treant redecorating, everyone riding elk through the swamp.
- The party break for lunch on the outskirts of the swamp, A wild wyvern appears!
- Despite giving Zurgo a good knock, the group quickly dispatches the old dragon-kin.
- Nullai, having done the least damage, takes the only prize from the fight, skinning the beast to hopefully make it into armor.
- The group continues, reaching Dainesfall a few hours after nightfall.
- The party notices a large number of refugees in the city. Ardulice starts handing out silver, which earns her a crowd. She then casts darkness and rides away.
- Zurgo goes to the barracks to collect the bounty for the Yuan-ti body parts. They give him a check for the amount promised.
- The group sleeps at the Two Serpents inn.

Day 14:
- The group has a wonderful breakfast in a private room at the inn and decide they are mostly interested in money and fighting the empire. They decide to try to work for the Korynth Empire to get money from them, and to find their army so they can help fight it.
- Theodocicles reads books all day.
- Ardulice goes to try to find Warder Lo to see if he has heard of Valanthe Caladil, and to get more information on the empire.
- She finds the little girl she gave money to before and ask her where Mr. Lo is. The girl, grudgingly obliges, leading Ardu to a cellar door behind a house.
- Someone from inside asks for a password, Ardu can’t produce one. A man sneaks up behind her, hitting her with a club and something sharp (and poisonous). Ardu shrugs it off, and turns to face her attacker.
- Due to the bright city sun, she can only flail her sword in his direction.
- The cellar door opens, Warder Lo and another armed man come out; Warder recognizes Ardu and invites her inside.
- Warder tells Ardu that he doesn’t know anything about Valathe, and that the empire is keeping close watch on their mercenaries. He also tells Ardu that he is part of the Returners, gives Ardu a pass phrase, and says if she can gather information on the Korynth troop movements that would be helpful.
- Ardu returns to the Two Snakes for lunch, and asks Brisha about the refugees. She says the refugees are from the east, where Korynth rule is worse and there is talk of humanoid fire demons harassing the populace.
- Nullai and Zurgo sell the groups gold and jewels in the market, and venture to a local armorsmith, who appears very busy. They show him the mithril armor, and he is very interested, but can’t give them a price until the next day after he’s talked to the commander who ordered all the armor his men are working on.
- The pair also talk to the sergeant (Trent on the day, but Strateli according to an old adventure log ) and ask about new work, he says he will get back to them tomorrow, but would also like some more information from them.
- Zurgo and Nullai also go to the local money changer, exchanging their check for 5 platinum bars and another, lesser check.
- Nullai brews a potion.

Day 12-13

Day 12 cont.
- The party tries to find a way out of the ziggurat, they poke and push on the stone with runes on it, but it doesn’t budge.
- Ardulice suggests putting blood on the runes; though Nullai scoffs at the idea, when Theodocicles tries it the door opens and the group leaves.
- Seeing no other entrances, the group heads back to the initial courtyard and south through a tunnel in the wall.
- The group finds a large opening in the cave leading to a larger pool. Zurgo sees something moving among the stalagmites, when Ardu moves dancing lights into the area a young black dragon spreads it’s wings.
- The party starts wailing on the dragon and it runs into the water. Nullai follows it into the water and brings up the dragons corpse.
- The party is now very exhausted, but after waiting a while Zurgo and Nullai(as a giant octopus) explore the area and find a magic sword and nice armor among the dragons victims. They also find a large treasure hoard.
- With their loot, they decide to go back to the ledge and sleep.

Day 13:
- The party wakes and ventures back through, passing by the large quarry cave this time.
- The tunnel ends at a large courtyard with two ziggurats, one has an alter at the top, the other has a large tree growing out of it.
- Zurgo and Nullai examine the alter, and find it has recent blood in it.
- Ardu and Theo examine the tree, and find it’s magical, but Theo doesn’t know much about magical trees.
- Ardu asks Nullai to look at the tree as well, but he is not helpful.
- Nullai and Zurgo begin climbing down the tree to examine the roots. The tree begins violently shacking and Nullai is thrown off.
- Nullai apologizes to the tree in sylvan as Zurgo jumps off. Nullai convinces the treant to move, which starts collapsing the ziggurat; a piece of which falls on Nullai.
- Everyone gets away from the collapsing Zigurat, the treant begins moving to the other ziggurat to destroy it.
- It starts collapsing, and 8 Yuanti appear out of the rubble, including two large abominations.
- Many attack the treant, but Zurgo and Ardu wade into the fray, Theo and Nullai drop spells on the enemy. Zurgo is frightened andruns away… again.
- The group, with a lot of help from the treant, defeat the Yuan-ti.
- Believing the have exterminated the Yuan-ti, the group decide to go back to dainsfall and collect their reward.

Day 12

Day 12:
- The party wakes on the ledge in a yuan-ti courtyard and decide to explore the ziggurat they discovered the previous night.
- Searching the outside, Ardulice discovers a distinctive stone block, set as a door in the ziggurat.
- Unable to open the door, Nullai, as a badger, digs under the stone, finding a brick wall, that seems like it can be pried open, Ardulice crawls in the whole and break the wall enough to crawl through.
- The party enter a circular room covered in moss and an odd floating dust.
- Ardulice tells the rest of the party that the moss is yellow and brown fungus, and while fire destroys one it strengthens the other.
- Moving carefully, the party find a cistern in the center of the room. Theodocicles recognizes a transportation circle at the bottom covered in water.
- As Theo investigates, Nullai tries to carefully burn some of the yellow moss, avoiding the brown. As he does so the dust erupts in flames. The brown mold grows thick over the floor.
- Very injured, the party flee up onto the stairs to main level, where Zurgo sees someone hiding behind a pillar.
- Zurgo charges the hiding creature, and is shot by many poison arrows.
- The party fight 8 human-like Yuan-ti, two of which try to free a monstrous writhing multi-headed snake, and are eaten by it.
- Nullai comes close to being eaten by the creature, but just in time, a fireball from Theo, and Zurgo and Ardu jumping into melee range defeated the monstrosity.
- The party, nearly spent from so much fighting, rest in the ziggurat.

Day 11 cont

Day 11 cont.
- The party takes a brief rest in the middle of the Swamp near Shearth.
- Zurgo climbs into the canopy and finds tracks from the Yuan-ti archers who had fled through the trees.
- Nullai joins him as a snake in the canopy, and together they track the Yuan-ti for over an hour; Ardulice and Theodocicles following below, riding Corrine.
- The four adventures find a large stone wall, with a tunnel carved as an entrance.
- The group proceeds into the tunnel, Nullai, as a snake, finds two Yuan-ti guarding a door. The Yuan-ti try to charm the snake, but recognize it is too smart and attack.
- The group fights, one of the Yuan-ti opens the door into a courtyard, where four much more human looking Yuan-ti also attack the group.
- Zurgo is seriously sounded in the fight, but the enemy are largely dispatched. One of the more human ones is kept alive long enough to tell the group of a secret button entrance to the rest of the complex, and that there are a few dozen members of the order. They are trying to gain strength enough that an avatar of Sseth will come and lead them.
- The party burn the bodies on a dais in the courtyard, the blood begins to flow into circles around the alter, but the circles don’t fill up.
- They realize the dais has strong transmutation magic, they try to smash, burn and dispel the alter, but it is much stronger than the party.
- The group decides to sleep in the courtyard before continuing into through the secret door.

Night 11:
- Theodocicles sets up alarms around the courtyard, Ardulice takes first watch.
- Theodocicles wakes when the alarm to the stone tunnel entrance is tripped, and he wakes the rest of the party.
- The first two awake try to hid, and prepare to wait out whatever is beneath them, but when an abomination comes in dragging twelve humanoid bodies, Nullai and Zurgo attack.
- The abomination frightens Zurgo, but is eventually defeated. One of the smaller Yuan-ti with him opens the secret and flees down the passage. Zurgo, no longer afraid, chases him down and slays him before he can reach a zigarat.
- The group goes back to the courtyard, and burns all 15 bodies, though not on the alter this time. The casters, exhausted, hope to get a full nights rest. The four have collected a dozen heads on their first day of hunting.

Day 11

Day 11:
- The party wakes up in the Two Serpents in Dainesfall.
- At breakfast, they notice the absence of Nullai and the addition of Kyle, a three-quarterling Mazzini had been talking to the previous day.
- The party agree to let Kyle join the group, and they head outside to find Nullai in the square, being pensive under a tree.
- The group proceeds to leave the town, heading North.
- When they reach the north-gate, Zurgo presents his mercenary contract, The guards ask why there is now one extra, and the group says they picked up Kyle in town as a new trainee.
- When asked for his information, Kyle runs, and is shot at by the gaurds, but escapes down an alley.
- The group proceed north toward Lake Shearth.
- As they approach the lake, they hear sounds of battle coming from a thick forest.
- The group approaches cautiously, but find only a Satyr, playing the sounds of battle on his horn.
- Mazzini has an artistic discussion with him and orates for him.
- They satyr talks to the party, telling them this used to be a beautiful forest, part of the fey wild, but it was transported here, and all his friends are dead.
- Theodocicles and Mazzini are moved to tears by the story, Ardulice tries to pat him on the back, but her hand goes through him; she realizes he is a ghost.
- The satyr evaporates, and the group continues through the forest which they notice has a distinct lack of creatures, and eventually becomes a swamp.
- They venture into the swamp, and notice they are being followed by a large snake. The party attacks the snake which grows arms and calls the smaller snakes of the swamp to fight with him.
- After significant effort the party slays the abomination, most of the smaller snakes leave the area.
- Ardulice asks one of the remaining snakes, snake with brown spots, to lead them to any more limbed creatures in the swamp. The snake obliges.
- The group are lead into an ambush; they are surrounded and attacked by many more half-human half-snake creature. The kill three, but three others escape.
- Zurgo puts the heads of the three slain creatures on a rope to return to them to Strateli.
- The group rests briefly to recover a bit from the encounters before continuing into the swamp.

Day 10

Day 10:
- The four party members wake in a cave half-way to Dragonwake
- They leave and decide to head towards the city of Dainsfall
- On the way, the party notices a camp breaking to the west, and as they pass, they hear Mazzini’s horn.
- The group heads over, finding the camp to be a group of human vagabonds.
- The group speaks of needing to sacrifice elders, when suddenly three Manticores appear in the sky.
- Hoenn, The human leader approaches them, and calls an elder to sacrifice. The party attacks and defeats the Manitcores before anyone is sacrificed, and they continue to Dainsfall once again, reunited with Mazzini.
- The two humans enter the town acting as scholars and head to the air temple to research.
- The three non-humans try to enter later as traders, but are denied entry and Trent, a hobgoblin sergeant, demands the gems and gold from the kobold crypt to allow them to enter.
- Theodocicles learns from the small library that the Korynth empire has been in the area for about 5 weeks, and came from the North east.
- Mazzini talks to some servants at the air temple, and finds that though the servants seem annoyed, the empire is not mistreating them.
- Nullai talks to a bartender at the Two Serpents inn and learns that the Korythians have killed some elders who apposed them and raised taxes, but have provided protection from roving bandits.
- Zurgo learns that Orgres and Snake people had been attacking the town before, but the empire has been holding them recently.
- Zurgo, learning the snake people are in the area, goes to the town barracks and makes a deal with Strateli, the Korythian commander, to kill snake people for a bounty. He learns they attack from the north east, and may hide near Lake Shearth.
- Ardulice heads into the slums, and catches a small orphan pickpocket.
- She interrogates the girl for information on the empire, but the girl knows little. She sends the girl off with a gold piece.
- A man in a side street laughs at her generosity. The half-elf, named Warder Lo, sells Ardulice information that their is little resistance in Dainsfall, but he has heard that The Returners in Sharmik have been putting up a fight, though they may be crushed by now.
- Nullai assassinates Trent, Ardulice collects the guards pouch while pretending to try to heal him.
- The party goes to the Two Serpents Inn to sleep, and meet Brisha, the half-elven owner.

Day 9

Day 9:
- Nullai wakes early and re-buries the treasure chest.
- Mazzini leaves Ardulice a note that he is disappointed that the group would consider keeping the treasure, so he would go on his own way for now, but hoped their paths would cross again.
- The remaining four eventually meet near the Killibyr gaurd house.
- Before midday, they meet the contingent from the Beineson Clan and made a deal that the clan would help protect Killibyr in exchange for any claim the group had on the gold.
- The four leave Jaymon to discuss specifics and head up the winding path to Dragonwake hoping to find Knibbleblink and learn more about the Korynth Empire which they knew had taken some cities in the area.
- As dusk approaches, Ardulice hears a commotion down a side path.
- She finds a cave where a group of Duergar and weird humans are camping.
- One of the humans noticed Ardulice, and most of the group was called out of hiding; It seems that both groups would just pass each other.
- When Nullai moved up to see the group, he noticed a fiery tattoo around their eye, and he immediately attacked.
- The enemy were dispatched, but one human monk was kept alive after being incapacitated by Theodocicles’ joke.
- The group found their enemy had captured a Storm Giant. Ardulice freed him with great effort and learns his name is Sigrid.
- All five proceed to interrogate the monk, Blileaus. They learn that the Duergar and The Flaming Eye had teamed up to capture Sigrid so he could repair an artifact for them. They also learn the group was taking him to the far east of Dragonwake and down a steep cliff.
- Sigrid takes his leave, but suggests the group take shelter for the night, as their is going to be a storm.

Day 7-8

Day 7 cont.
- The party continues to search the crypt for the missing Halfling minner, but can’t find him.
- The party leaves the crypt to search the rest of the exploratory mine, they find another opening into a long stairwell.
- At the bottom of the stairwell their is a secret door leading to the rest of the explored crypt.
- At the top of the stairwell they find a scorched halfling body with a destroyed ruby around it
- Zurgo takes the body out of the mine. Having found all the dead miners and cleared the crypt of ghosts, to the groups knowledge, they tell the halflings waiting at the entrance that it is again safe to go inside.
- The return to Killibyr, and are told by a charmed Jaymon that he has allowed their friend Knibbleblink to leave them something in their rooms.
- The group returns to their rooms, finding them ransacked, and the cauldron of anti-aging missing.
- The group sleeps with the elves staying guard in the hallway.

Day 8:
- The party awakes and decides to follow Knibbleblink.
- As they leave, they talk to Alex, a halfling gaurd. He tells them he remembers a gnome leaving, but was unsure where he went.
- The group decide to go to Dunregan as this is likely where Knibbleblink would go to sell what he took from the crypt.
- As they are leaving a group of twenty Hobgoblins, Humans, Orcs, and Half-orcs in battle array approach the town.
- The troop ask for the leader of the town and Mazzini goes to get Jaymon.
- When Jaymon arrives, the Hobgoblin seargent of the 3rd general infantry, Brant, demands that the town join the Korynth Empire, offer a chest of gold for the town to begin building a barrack, giving them a day to respond.
- Jaymon asks the party to ask the Beineson clan of Dunregan for help. He tells them of an abandoned cliff path out of the city so they can leave undetected.
- The party meets an Earth elemental on the path and defeat it.
- The party reaches Dunregan, finding many corpses that appear to be from the same empire burning outside the gates.
- In the earth temple, the party asks Erril for assistance. She agrees to send a force under her niece Sheli, but demands the gold chest as payment.
- The group decides to search the market for Knibbleblink while the dwarf platoon musters.
- Ardulice finds a man in the market who points her to a gnome selling trinkets.
- The group finds the gnome, and Mazzini puts him to sleep. However, the group doesn’t find any artifacts or the cauldren in his bag or clothes. When they wake the gnome, they find he is Knibbleblink’s older brother, who stole his powers and his bag of holding.
- Ardulice buys a clock from him so he can get off the street for a night, and tells him to keep an eye out for his brother.
- The party goes to join the dwarves, but Sheli tells them they aren’t needed.
- They instead leave before the dwarves hoping to take the gold for themselves.
- Arnie the owl scouts the camp and finds the gold, so the group tries to sneak around the Korynth empire camp.
- As they are climbing a cliff on the far side of the camp, the dwarves reach the ground and the battle commences. The group catch a glimpse of two ogres the force had hidden up the path coming to join the battle, so the group rushes to join the fight.
- The group kills Brant and his lieutenant, and incapacitated both ogres, but not soon enough to save Sheli or most of her force.
- Mazzini hid the treasure chest and Theodocicles took some papers from the command tent and they both left to alert Kilibyr of the victory.
- The rest stay and finish off the Hobgoblins, The dwarf cleric says her group must return to Dunregan but asks that the people of Killibyr help clean up the bodies and leave the spoils of the enemy as payment.
- Zurgo finds Gauntlets of Ogre strength on the hobgoblin lieutenant.
- Nullai informs Jaymon of the clerics request.
- Ardulice helps with the cleanup. The rest drink to the fallen and go to sleep at the Gilded Gauntlet.

Day 6-7

Day 6 cont.
- Party arrives in Killibyr after the being exhausted trying to save workers from the mine collapse.
- Theodocicles identifies the items taken from the Kobold crypt.
- Nullai goes to the small killibyr library, doesn’t find any books, but does find a gnome named Knibbleblink the Magnanimous, who tells Nullai not to venture into the crypt.
- Ardulice talks to Jaymon about the crypt, but gains little information, and he reacts shiftily when she mentions possession.

Day 7:
- The party wakes in the Gilded Gauntlet with guards at their doors, but they are not harassed, and meet for breakfast and divvy the loot.
- They return to the cave, where little has happened since they left.
- They find the crypt much like they left it, and though they yell out, ca’t find the missing halfling.
- Taking the hall they haven’t gone down yet. They find a secret door with a stairwell leading up to throne room.
- They awaken two gargoyles and Nullai is possessed by a ghost while he is in wild shaped as a rat.
- They destroy the two gargoyles and break the ruby which powered the ghost and retrieve some treasure from the throne room.
- They explore a large empty room with a massive descending staircase.
- The staircase is trapped, but at the bottom they find a giant skeleton of a dragon, also with a large ruby. Terrified of awakening the ghost of a dragon, they leave quickly and close a secret door, sealing the room.
- The last unexplored room is a large hall with many suits of armor.
- Their is a throne at the end of the hall, from which a ghost appears as the group approaches.
- The ghost demands the group leave all of their stolen goods in a pile and he will let them leave.
- Mazzini drops his stuff, but no one else does. At an opportune moment they charge forward and smash the ruby, dissipating the ghost.
- Mazzini is put to sleep by some hidden mage.
- Hearing running feet and thinking the ghosts voice reminded them of Knibbleblinks, the party charge out of the room chasing the footstep but find nothing.
- Ardulice, Theodocicles, and Zurgo examine the throne room, while the other two sit in the large room hoping to spot the mage.

End of session: Party in crypt, having explored all open visible rooms. They believe there may still be a halfling worker in the crypt, as well as Knibbleblink. They just finished a short rest.
